Graduation Photos

I always enter graduation shoots with a vision, but the real strength of these sessions comes from collaboration. Before we begin, I take time to talk with each graduate about what’s meaningful to them: places that hold memories, symbols of their journey, and the emotions they want to remember years from now. This dialogue helps shape a session that’s not just personal, but purposeful.

From a technical standpoint, I prioritize natural light when possible and scout locations that offer both aesthetic value and personal significance to the graduate. I build out a shot list based on their priorities, while staying flexible to capture spontaneous moments. I often incorporate movement and candid interactions to help the session feel relaxed and authentic.

These shoots go beyond posed portraits. My goal is to document the emotion of the moment, whether that’s quiet reflection or joyful celebration, and create images that feel true to the person in them. The best photos aren’t always the most polished; they’re the ones that bring you right back to what it felt like to be there.
