South Carolina State Fair

For this project, I visited the South Carolina State Fair multiple times to capture its energy and excitement through both photo and video. I focused on the most vibrant areas, the petting zoo, kids’ rides, swings, and food stands, where emotions were high and moments unfolded naturally. Since the fair was a childhood favorite of mine, I was especially drawn to photographing kids, capturing their joy and sense of wonder.

Throughout the project, I experimented with shutter speed to explore motion adding visual variety and depth. Shooting on location presented challenges, especially with changing lighting conditions, but it also allowed me to get creative in how I captured the scene.

This project sparked a new love for photojournalism and documentary-style storytelling.

This one-minute video is a montage capturing the atmosphere and excitement of the South Carolina State Fair. The goal of the project was to tell the story of a day at the fair and convey the joy and energy of the experience through visual storytelling.

I shot the footage using a Canon EOS R6 to capture sharp, dynamic visuals, and edited the project in Adobe Premiere Pro. I focused on precise timing, selected audio that matched the playful, high-energy vibe of the fair, and applied color grading to enhance the vibrance and bring the visuals to life.
